Tickets
Five kinds of tickets are available to use on public transportation:
- Single - a one-way ticket
- Daily - allows unlimited travel on the day of purchase
- Off-peak daily - discounted unlimited travel on the day of purchase between 9 am to 3.30 pm and after 7 pm on a weekday, or all day on weekends and public holidays
- Weekly - unlimited travel for one week from the date of purchase
- Monthly - unlimited travel for one calendar month from the date of purchase.
Ten trips are also available, which are priced at the cost of eight. These can be obtained from Busway stall operators and newsagencies.
Concessions
If you are studying full-time, you are eligible for a concession on public transportation. To receive
a concession, you must be studying for at least 12 hours per week for at least 12 weeks.
Concession student cards feature a Queensland Rail (QR) logo on their card.
Part-time students are not eligible for this concession.
Car Parking
There is no student parking on campus at Southbank Institute's main South Brisbane campus. There is on-street parking in and around the campus which is patrolled by the Brisbane City Council. There are several commercial parking facilities within walking distance, including one at South Bank Parklands two blocks away.
Infringement notices may be issued to any illegally parked vehicles on South Bank road-related areas.
There is limited on-campus parking at our Morningside and Kangaroo Point campuses, as well as some on-street parking.
